ZANACO midfielder Charles Zulu is in Spain attending trials at La Liga outfit Elche CF with a possibility of clinching a permanent deal.
Zulu, who left for Spain on Sunday afternoon, received an invite from Elche to attend trials for three months at which his performance will be assessed.
The enterprising midfielder said before departure that his ambition is to one day play in Europe and that he will work hard to earn a place at the La Liga outfit.
“I will put everything in God’s hands during my stay at Elche for me to impress and seal a deal,” he said.
Zulu has in the recent past earned a regular call up to the national team playing in the qualifiers and subsequently made a debut at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals held in Equatorial Guinea.
A delighted Zulu said he never expected such an offer to come so soon but that he was prepared for the challenge that lies ahead.
Elche are currently 13th on La Liga table with 40 points from 34 matches having won 11, drawn seven and lost 17 matches scoring 33 against 55 goals.
On Sunday, Elche beat Malaga 2-1 and will take on Villarreal in their next match on May 10.
Zanaco coach Numba Mumamba confirmed the development in an interview and that Zulu had blessings from the club.
“The Zanaco executive committee are aware about Charles move and have allowed him to attend trials. We will greatly miss Charles services he is very instrumental to the club but a gap won’t be created in the team because we have other good players,” he said.
