Magistrate's courtBy PERPETUAL  SICHIKWENKWE –
THIRTEEN Lusaka residents have pleaded not guilty to illegally invading land belonging to  Galaunia Farms.
Moses Sikanyika and 12 others yesterday told magistrate Mwaka Mikalile after the charge was read out to them that they were not guilty.
The 13, aged between 21 and 51 of different residential areas are alleged to have on May 2, 2015 taken possession and entered farm number 32 A belonging to Galaunia Farms whilst armed with offensive weapons.
Ms Mikalile read out the charge to the 13, but they all denied it.
Their lawyer Robison Malipenga applied for his clients to be granted bail pending the determination of the matter.
Mr Malipenga said the offence in which the 13 are charged with is a bailable one, as such they should be granted bail.
Ms Mikalile granted each of the 13, K500 cash bail each with two sureties from established organisations.
She adjourned the matter to June 12, 2015 for commencement of trial.
Some Lusaka residents have in the past few days continued to illegally occupy land at Galaunia Farms in Mutumbi area in Lusaka by sharing the perceived idle land.
