Greetings hope you are doing well. well, when I sat down to write the headline to this column from my sick bed I erased and erased because how do I write it?
I am talking about women who opt to cut their hair not because its a big chop to get rid of natural hair or damaged hair but just because they prefer it to having long hair.
It’s really a brave beautiful decision that is quite laudable and to be honest looks really good.
There are a lot of advantages to going bald, the most obvious being that it is really easy to look after all you have to is shampoo and moisturise.
It shows off your face in all its contours and beauty there’s nothing taking attention away from your face.
Short hair makes you look younger and more youthful.
Going bald is definitely cheaper than having an afro and it saves you a lot of time in styling (for obvious reasons) there are no more hectic wash days or deep conditioning.
All these advantages make me want to cut my hair but I know there will be protests if I do so let me just sit in envy.
My namesake Nancy Chenge, who is also journalist, recently cut her hair and went bald and good gosh she looks awesome.
She looks so great that the last time I met her I sat her down and asked what spurred the decision to cut her hair and give up the weaves.
She said ; “I love to keep my hair short, I just feel good  and fresh plus it saves me time to prepare myself for my busy working days. This means that I don’t need to worry about going  to the salon but simply wash it in the morning.
So I cut it short every two weeks and it makes me feel great and smart.”
You need to cut your hair at a clean barbershop about every two weeks to keep it growing unless you are thinking growing it long.
Ensure that you wash with lukewarm water and massage your scalp to ensure that you keep circulation at an optimum.
They say ‘long hair don’t care’ but to be honest neither does short hair.
It works for any career as Nancy attests: “ You know my profesion is very busy and involving, i am always on duty working. I love my job Nancy and I never want to give an excuse for reporting late or failing to do the right thing because I got delayed with my hairdo, Short hair is the best because I love it.”
Well there you have it, just ensure that if you do cut your hair it’s clean and moisturised so that it looks healthy.
Accessories with  chunky earrings and jewellery and ensure that your make-up is always properly and cleanly done.
Experiment with different lipstick colours and eye make-up, have fun the beauty of short hair is that it takes no attention from your looks.
