FORMER Solwezi East Member of Parliament Richard Taima has praised President Edgar Lungu for his all embracing and inspiring style of leadership anchored on the motto of ‘One Zambia, One Nation’.

Mr Taima said he was particularly thankful that despite the North-Western Province producing very little votes for President Lungu, he has chosen to start the programme of taking the Presidency closer to the people in the province.
Mr Taima who was the provincial deputy campaign manager in the January 20, 2015 presidential election said President Lungu’s action showed the highest level of magnanimity as he was putting the national agenda above personal interests.
He said Mr Lungu had demonstrated this in many ways including embracing all well meaning Zambians into his Government regardless of their political affiliation.
“Due to his likable and inspiring leadership style, President Lungu will lead the PF into victory in 2016 even in areas where the PF has faced resistance such as North-Western Province.
“It follows therefore that this assured victory at Presidential level must be supported at Parliamentary and Local government level by insuring that candidates’ selection should be on the basis of popularity and connectivity with the grassroots,” Mr Taima said.
He advised the deputy secretary general of the Patriotic Front (PF) Mumbi Phiri to consult extensively and ensure that people of strong political stamina were brought on board in reorganising the party in the province.
Commenting on the recent defection of Richard Kapita from the United Party for National Development (UPND) to the PF, Mr Taima said the decision was not only timely but good for the PF and the Province especially that it comes at a time when the party was embarking on membership recruitment and structural reorganisation.
“Mr Kapita is a man of high political experience whose defection is a big plus to the PF and cannot be down played by the UPND,” he said.
However, Mr Taima was quick to call on PF members in the province to embrace people joining the ruling party as resistance exhibited in the past towards newcomers was becoming a hindrance to the growth of the party in the province.
