SEVEN drivers have dragged their former employer, Dar Farms to court demanding to be paid terminal benefits.
Danford Siuluta and six others are demanding that Dar Farms pays them K266,452 as retrenchment benefits, terminal benefits and substance allowances.
The seven stated in their writ of summons filed in the registry in the Lusaka High court that they were employed by Dar Farms as drivers.
Mr Siuluta said on his own behalf and that of six others that the nature of their employment was permanent and payable monthly at the basic salary K1,003 for each.
The seven allege that they worked for Dar Farms for the period of 20,14,12 and eight years respectively.
Mr Siuluta who said he worked for 20 years is demanding to be paid K60,180 as retrenchment benefits and substance allowance while Joseph Chivunga is demanding for K27,748 and Joshua Chembe demanded
for K11,700.
Joseph Kabunda is demanding K29,754, Canaan Moyo K35.772, Maybin Mpabalwani demanded for K33,766 while  Bengisani Munagagwe
K39,784.
The seven further allege that Dar Farms has neglected or refused to pay them the K266,452 the reason why they were asking the court to compel the company  to pay the amount in full with costs and interests at the current bank rate.
They stated that they have as a result of Dar Farms’ conduct suffered losses and failed to meet the requirements such as buying food, paying school fees, accommodation and others.
