ZANACO could reclaim top spot today when they host in-form ‘Mighty’ Mufulira Wanderers at Sunset Stadium in Lusaka in a MTN-FAZ Super League Week Eight rescheduled fixture.
With leaders Zesco United inactive because they have over five players away on international duty, Zanaco could leap back to the top after spending the last five days in second position.
Wanderers four-match unbeaten run will be put to the test in what will be the Shinde side first away game against Zanaco since 2005 when they lost 3-1 at Sunset Stadium.
Placed fifth on the log, Wanderers head into the match having picked up eight out of a possible 12 points in their last four games
The other fixture in Lusaka will see newly appointed Green Buffaloes head coach Bilton Musonda take charge of his first game since his elevation when the army side host Napsa Stars.
Musonda will be demanding more from his side that they can pick up a second successive win to lift them up the ladder but must be wary of a Napsa side that is equally desperate for points.
Zesco lead the log with 20 points followed by Zanaco on 18 while Wanderers are on 14 points with Buffaloes and Napsa on 11 and seven points respectively.
