Meanwhile embattled Kabwe Golf Club captain, Kamal Desai allegedly snubbed the Zambia Golf Union (ZGU) officials when they graced the 2015 Kabwe Open Championship last weekend.
Kamal was conspicuously missing during the Kabwe Open prize-presentation where ZGU president, Charles Mwanza and members of his executive were in attendance.
Mwanza and his executive were in the Central Province town to grace the tournament and offer some solutions to the internal problems the club was facing.
The ZGU officials were displeased with Kamal’s absence, forcing Mwanza to direct the union’s honorary secretary, Kelly Munsaka to find out why the club captain decided to stay away from an important engagement.
In his address, Mwanza cautioned members of Kabwe Golf Club against ‘washing dirty linen’ in public and try to resolve issues internally.
Mwanza said the club members needed to resolve matters in a harmonious way in line with the provisions of the club constitution.
“Resolve problems as one club. Internal matters should be resolved amicably internally,” the ZGU chief said at the end of the Kabwe Open won by local golfer, Denmark Mulambo.
Recently, Kabwe Golf Club members petitioned the Desai-led executive to convene a special council meeting to determine the suitability of some of the leaders in running the affairs of the club.
In petition availed to club secretary, Cosmas Mufaya, Desai is accused of having allegedly irregularly obtained loans on behalf of the club without seeking approval from voting members.
