Zambia’s exports to Moz increase

ZAMBIA’s export earnings to Mozambique increased by US$19 million
between 2013 and 2014.
According to trade statistics obtained at the Zambian High Commission in Mozambique, earnings from Zambia’s exports  stood at US$ 47, 504, 000 in 2014 compared to US$ 27, 514, 000 recorded in2013.
The country’s export earnings to Mozambique for 2010 stood at US$5, 200,000 while the earnings for 2011 and 2012 stood at US$ 78, 429, 000 and US$ 40, 100, 000 respectively.
Zambia’s major exports to Mozambique include copper, iron, steel, sugar, maize, maize, poultry, ammonia, bituminous mixtures and non-alcoholic beverages such as juices and mineral water.
Between 2013 and 2014, statistics indicate that Zambia exported more to Mozambique than it imported from that country.
In terms of Zambia’s imports from Mozambique, US$ 40, 13, 000 worth of imports were recorded in 2014 with a trade balance of US$ 6, 591, 000.
In 2013, Zambia’s imports from Mozambique stood at US$ 24, 928, 000 with US$ 2, 586, 000 recorded as a trade balance.
