Police capBy PASSY HAACHIZO –

POLICE in Lusaka are looking for suspected masterminds who could have been politically motivated to spark confusion that led to destruction of property at Evelyn Hone College.
Lusaka Province Police chief, Charity Katanga said nine students were arrested on Thursday and later released after admission of guilt.
Ms Katanga said the confusion at the higher learning institution was beyond students’ demonstrations but engineered by some politicians.
“We are looking for, especially those who destroyed private cars that were parked in the Police car park. This is far beyond a riot and we will get the masterminds and get to the root of all this,” she said.
But some students, who sought anonymity, told Sunday Times that there was no political motivation behind the demonstration but they were fed up with power outages that would eventually negatively affect their results.
