STRIKER Lembani Lungu’s heroics at the weekend inspired Lumwana Radiants to dislodge Kalulushi Modern Stars from the summit of the FAZ Division One North League table after trouncing relegation-bound Konkola Mine Police.
Lungu scored a ha- trick as coach Allan Kamwanga’s men reclaimed the top spot with a two-point advantage over Kalulushi Modern Stars, who suffered a humiliating 1-0 defeat at the hands of Indeni.
Lumwana moved to 55 points, two ahead of second-placed Kalulushi in a seemingly two-horse race for promotion to the MTN-FAZ Super League.
A defeat further dimmed Mine Police’s hopes of surviving relegation, having picked up only 12 points from 26 games played so far.
Charles Chomba’s brace handed Mufulira Blackpool a 2-0 win over FQM, while Ndola United snatched maximum points off Chindwin Sentries, who they beat 2-0.

Lameck Kafwaya and Mwansa Nsofwa scored a goal each in the 40th and 60th minutes, respectively, to settle this tough encounter played at Woodlands Stadium in Lusaka.
Coach Mohammed Fathy’s side that moved to 66 points at the top, only need two wins from the remaining seven matches to confirm their promotion back to Premier Division while City of Lusaka slid back into the drop zone.
Lusaka Tigers are firmly in second position on 52 points, two points ahead of Nampundwe, who reignited their promotion dreams after beating Kafue Celtic 2-0.
