Zesco spokesperson Henry Kapata, who confirmed the development, said the lines had been commissioned and were now active.
This has improved power supply to the two areas which were previously serviced by 33 and 66 KV transmission lines.
The two provinces had been plagued by low voltage and intermittent power supply.
The project was implemented by TBEA of China which upgraded the transmission lines which run from Pensulo in Serenje to Kasama in Northern Province which in turn feed Luapula.
Members of the business community were elated with the development as the low voltage had been affecting both large and micro-economic enterprises.
Mr Kapata also said that Vubwi, which had recently been upgraded to district status, had finally been connected to the national grid.
