REIGNING Miss Teen Commonwealth Brandila Lubuli has been selected to represent Zambia at the Prestigious Miss International beauty pageant to be held from 10 -17 October in Japan.
In an interview with the Weekend Times Entertainment, the 19-year-old Evelyn Hone second year Laboratory Technology student says she is confident of scooping the title.
Asked on how she is going to balance her modeling career with school bearing in mind that examinations are due in November, Brandila said.
“We have arranged with my tutors that I will be given assignments which I have to hand in before departure and when I get back I will have to go through intensive lessons so that I catch up with my colleagues before the commencement of exams.”
Ever since she won a number of beauty pageants, the teen model has helped the needy as well as sensitising the public about diseases such as HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis (TB).
She has also been active in donating foodstuffs and clothes to various orphanages and health institutions such as Mufulira’s Kumachanga hospital and different schools both on the Copper belt and Lusaka.
Last year, Brandila outclassed 53 other hopefuls from Commonwealth countries to scoop the Miss Teen Commonwealth title at an event held at Radisson Inn in the United Kingdom.
Prior to scooping the Miss Teen Commonwealth crown, Brandila who hails from Eastern Province first participated and won the Miss Tourism Eastern province / Miss Culture ambassador in 2013.
She had also participated in the Miss Evelyn Hone College and since then she has been active in promoting the welfare of the less privileged in the society.
