Lamamuda wins DStv/UCZ golf tourney

A LAMAMUDA Engineering team on Sunday were crowned 2015 DStv/United Church of Zambia (UCZ)’s Saint Andrews Congregation golf champions in Ndola.
The Lamamuda team led by Miliase Siame and Lynette Simuchimba carded 105 points after 18 holes, two clear of an Indeni Petroleum Refinery squad of Maiwase Sakala, Phil Munsaka, Esther Yambayamba and Matipa Shichitamba.
Ndola Golf Club president, Yogesh Desai inspired a Non-Ferrous Metals team to third-place finish after scoring 99 points, six ahead of Danny Kangwa-led Sweet Bite team.
Sports Council of Zambia (SCZ) vice-chairperson, Emmanuel Katebe led his BBC One Collection team of John Kabuka, Chris Mtonga and Steve Mateyo into fifth position on 93 points after winning a count back over a Cactus Investment team.
The Cactus squad had George Machila, Godfrey Mbawala, Derrys Tongwaa and Actor Kaambwa.
In the individual stableford, Mufulira’s T. Kbwe emerged winner on 39 points, one better than Kwame Musonda.
Veteran Ndola Golf Club trustee, Naranji Patel was third on 34 points with the Zambia Ladies Golf Union president, Moono Mwila winning a three-way count back to claim the fourth position following a tie on 33 points.
Losing the count back to Mwila were Gosa Munsaka and former Zambia Golf Union (ZGU) vice-president south, Welani Chilengwe.
Regina Ngosa also prevailed after a four-way count back to finish seventh ahead of Rose Katebe, BC Desai and Jack Ngulube who all had tied on 32 points.
Former ZGU treasurer, Joel Chitambala also picked up  an award after hitting 29 points, one clear of ZGU president, Charles Mwanza and Football Association of Zambia committee member, Pivoty Simwanza.
Marton Investments’ director, Tony Mwape won the crazy putting contest.
