THE Henry Courtyard is set to invest K2 million on the refurbishment and expansion of its Samfya  Marine Bay Lodge in Samfya District of Luapula Province.
Lodge director Felix Mulenga confirmed the development in an interview from Samfya yesterday.
Mr Mulenga said Henry Courtyard is embarking on the extension of the lodge to increase the number of chalets from the current seven to 30.
“We also want to renovate the conference room to bring it to international standards and  build a floating bar which will be able to accommodate 120 people,” Mr Mulenga said.
About 120 direct and indirect job opportunities would be created in the process.
This is expected to boost economic activities in the district.
Mr Mulenga said this was so because the lodge would provide the local community with  a ready market where they would sale their produce.
“This is also expected to encourage small scale farmers to grow more crops as they already have the market in place,” he said.
