Letters to the Editor -LogoThe re-introduction of Examinations for civil servants before being deployed on a permanent basis or elevated is welcome.
Furthermore, demotions of non performing civil servants must be introduced.
Some administrators are not helping to implement government policies due to lack of understanding the functions of government. Government institutions provide an opportunity for the public to assess the performance of government.
This is why all civil servants are appointed by the President through different service commissions.
Most people have lost confidence in the Civil service due to poor work culture.
Some people cannot go to a government clinic or take their children to government schools. The services offered by government are not appreciated.
We need to restore confidence of the people in the Civil service by bringing credibility in the manner institutions are managed.

Sunday, October 18,  memorable
Sunday October 18, 2015 will go down our history as the day when we as Zambians, came together not for anything but to seek God’s face  for our nation. The theme was forgiveness and reconciliation, now it is very surprising and disheartening to see and hear people still insulting and talking ill of others especially on social media. Where is the forgiveness and reconciliation if we still cannot tolerate each other especially those who share a different opinion from ours?
Forgiving and reconciling does not just happen by talking about it, it requires effort. October 18, was a new dawn for Zambia let us learn to be tolerant with each other, love one another and be each other’s keeper. Zambia is our country. When times are hard that’s the best time to be united.
It’s the duty of every citizen of this great nation to promote peace, forgiveness and reconciliation especially you the Media, learn to be responsible in the execution of your duty.
To our political leaders please stop name calling and insulting each other in public it will not help our country in any way.
Forgiveness and reconciliation cannot take place in an hostile environment, let’s try to create a conducive environment by not provoking each  other unnecessarily and deliberately.
May GOD Almighty continue blessing mother Zambia.Let Love Lead.
