CHINESE President Xi Jinping has hailed Zambia’s strides in safeguarding unity and stability while promoting economic development in the past one year.
In his congratulatory message to President Edgar Lungu over Zambia’s 51st independence anniversary which falls tomorrow, Mr Xi applauded the country’s efforts in improving people’s lives.
“On the occasion of the 51th anniversary of independence of the Republic of Zambia, I wish to extend, on behalf of the government and people of China and in my own name, my warmest congratulations to you and, through you, to the government and people of Zambia.
“Over the past year, your esteemed government has worked vigorously to safeguard national unity and stability, promote economic development, increase employment and improve people’s livelihood, which I highly applaud and I sincerely wish Zambia more achievements on its future development path,” he said.
Mr Xi said he attached great importance to the development of China-Zambia relations and stood ready to work with Zambia to further deepen the two nation’s bilateral traditional friendship and cooperation in various fields to improve people’s lives.
“May the Republic of Zambia enjoy prosperity and people live in happiness and harmony,” he said.
