Stephen Chungu 300x174By MILDRED KATONGO –

PATRIOTIC Front (PF) Luanshya Central Member of Parliament Stephen Chungu has embarked on a sensitisation campaign to raise awareness among school pupils on the importance of acquiring a National Registration Card (NRC) and registering as a voter.
Mr Chungu said the youths could also participate in decision making positions by acquiring NRC’s and voters card.
He said when he addressed pupils at Luanshya Girl’s Secondary School that the young people were the future leaders and acquiring an NRC and a voter’s card was the basis of becoming leaders.
“I have embarked on a tour to raise awareness in schools, to help pupils acquire NRCs and voter’s cards. These are the future leaders and their opportunity to be in decision making positions starts after acquiring the cards,” he said.
Mr Chungu said that pupils who were eligible to acquire the national identity document should be the bearer of the message from President Edgar Lungu and tell others about the NRC and voter registration
exercise.
He said that young people were the majority in the country, hence the need to have NRC’S and register as voters in order to participate in next year’s elections.
Once they acquire NRC’s, those that are eligible to
register as voters should register,” he said.
He urged the young people even those who were not in school to participate and be part of the people who would make decisions by electing their leader of choice.
