SCORCHERS defeated Dashers by 55 runs during the Midlands Cricket Association (MCA) T20 league match played at Metros Sports Club in Lusaka.
Batting first, Scorchers made 152 runs for five wickets down in 20 overs with Azhar Patel hitting 70 runs.
Naeem Patel contributed 27 runs with Salauddin Kothiya making 14 runs and pick of the bowlers for Dashers were Mohsin Pirawala and Imran Patel who both picked up two wickets apiece.
Dashers batting second were all for 97 runs in 17.1 overs with Mohsin Pirawala top scoring with 18 runs as Imran Patel made 17 runs and Sufyan Patel scoring 10 runs.
The best bowlers for Scorchers were Jabir Patel and Asif Sufi who both got three wickets.
Games played at Central Cricket Club saw Gallants continue with their fine form by beating Legacy by 10 runs.
Gallants batting first made 133 for nine wickets down in 20 overs while Legacy, batting second, were restricted to 123 runs for nine wickets down in 20 overs with Mayank Gupta making 25 runs.
In other matches played at the weekend, City B defeated Knight Rider by five wickets at Central Cricket Club.
Knight Rider batting first made 120 for six in 20 overs, Asif Patel top scored with 31 runs while Altaf Patel made 26 runs. City B batting second, cruised to their victory target in 17.1 overs. Salman Chetty made 23 runs, Suhel Manjra scored 21 runs and Suhel Hafi contributed 14 runs.
At Lotus Sports Club, CPS A lost to Munies having earlier made 98 runs in 20 overs batting first. Munies batting second reached their victory target in 12.4 overs.
