FEMALE referee Chishala Musonda will be among the three candidates the Zambia Basketball Association (ZBA) will send to Zimbabwe next month for an International Basketball Federation (FIBA) referees clinic.
Musonda will be accompanied by Eustus Bili and Percose Mubamba for the clinics that will be held from December 7 to 11 in Harare.
Currently, Zambian only has two qualified international referees in Robert Mweshi Munatamba, who officiated at the Congo Brazzaville 2015 All African Games (AAG) recently, and Durban based Suwilanji Siwila.
ZBA general secretary Mwembe Kaona said in a statement yesterday that the association wants to increase the number of international referees in the country.
Kaona said that running alongside the referee’s clinic will be one a technical referee’s clinic and that Zambia will be represented by former international referee Osward Kalamba.
He said ZBA currently does not have a qualified technical commissioner in its ranks.
