Your Memorable Wedding -New SunitaZAMBIA celebrated her 51st independence this October and nothing beats the colours on the flag as a wedding theme.
When colours on the flag are used as a theme, it’s something worth appreciating and I am happy about it because I am proud to be Zambian, because I am Zambian.
Ezekiel L. Phiri and Angela Mutuna tied the knot on October  31, 2015. They chose orange and apple green for their colour theme. These are also colours of fruits.
The function was fruitful and full of life. We had no dull moment, many invited guests had dances to portray, and before the dance floor was officially declared opened it was opened by the guests as they could not wait for that time to come.
People rarely eat apples and oranges, it’s considered as a luxury and yet they are good for our mortal bodies. Many complain that the fruits are expensive, yes good things don’t come cheap. One apple a day chases away the Doctor.
To the decorators l would suggest that a lot of apples and oranges be put as centerpieces and within the reach of every eye. Fruits work well for such a theme as having them on display will cause people to have appetite and buy them whenever they come into contact with them.
Everyone knows how delicious apples and oranges are, this is the time to eat yourself beautiful as bride, groom and guests for that healthy body. Do not just eat fruits when you are sick or once a year. The most eaten and popular fruit is mango, eat other fruits also no matter how expensive.
The invitation card was triangular shaped. Marriage is always said to be a triangle. It is instituted by God and requires commitment.
Husband on the left down corner and the wife on the right down corner being joined together. When the husband is close to God and the wife it means that both are close to God and always looking up to God for solutions and how to have a strong and successful marriage. The guests were invited with joyful hearts from both families.
The working together of both families helps to build a strong foundation and shows the young couple that they are happy and in support of what they have decided to do.
An invitation card always has a scripture because marriage has been ordained by God. Ezekiel and Angela chose Proverbs 18: 22 “A man who finds a wife, find a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord”. King Solomon puts it right when he said He who finds a wife finds what is good (treasure, something of great value) and receives favour (a special privilege or right granted/ conceded) from the LORD.
This verse is stating that marriage should be enjoyed and viewed as a great gift from God. God created marriage for our enjoyment and He pronounced it good. Married people need to see their marriages as great treasures which guard and protect them as such. This is one of the many passages in the Bible that show marriage as a joyful and good creation of God.
Set in the heart of Ndola, opposite Ndola Central Hospital, Starscape Hotel is the perfect choice for the cheerful bride and groom. The bus stop and taxi rank are just a stone throw away. It is adjacent to the main road, no one can be stranded or fail to locate it.
The parking space is available, outside the hotel premises though. Starscape Hotel boasts an atmosphere of discreet refinement that lends itself to a adding of luxury and sophistication. The reception venue was upstairs, large class windows able to see clearly the person walking by the main road. It’s very easy for someone to get carried away by what’s happening outside.
David in the Bible instead of going for war as a king, abandoned his purpose, stayed at home doing nothing. He did not concentrate on what was happening at the war, walked on the roof of the palace and looked over the city, his eyes,  saw a beautiful woman bathing and he was filled with lust.
He failed to flee the temptation, he chose to entertain the temptation by inquiring about Bathsheba and the results were devastating.
Some guests easily got carried away with what was happening outside, at a bus stop it’s always noisy. Curtains can really help the adults concentrate on what is happening inside where they are invited to add value by celebrating with the bride and groom than outside where they are not invited.
Looking through made David look into temptation. Curtains can help many not to look into temptation. Moving forward.
The hall has an air –conditioner, making it suitable for all seasons and a television set. The TV set was left on throughout the event, with a bit of volume. As invited guests, we were facing towards the TV, Chelsea was playing Liverpool.  Enjoying the celebration, next moment looking through the window then back inside the hall looking unto the TV set, placed on top of the head table.
Angela (bride) wore a beautiful skirt and string top gown which fitted her like a glove. She wore gloves as an accessory to make the gown more stunning and elegant. Embellishment was in the right place on the top, plain skirt in order to shift the attention on her top part of the body.
For the kitchen party celebration, she wore a beautiful, colourful green and orange msisi dress, paying homage to the Zambian tradition.  The design of the msisi dress is appropriate for a bride as it gives a rich free and natural flowing effect, for her to sit and kneel.
She picked the colours for her attire from her theme which is a good thing to do, orange is to brighten the mood and to enhance her confidence. Orange is a versatile colour that brings life and energy to your wedding day palette, while green gives a natural vibe and energy. A combination of orange and green shows that one is bold and it’s calming.
Many invited guests wore green or orange attires, as a way to appreciate the colours on the flag and celebrate with the bride. Mwansa wore orange Msisi with black ribbon incorporated to bring harmony in the attire and to break the monotony of the orange colour.
She gave it a touch of a modern lady by adding an orange hat and black belt as an accessory. This attire is suitable for such a gathering. See photos below.
With these colours as a theme you cannot afford to be sad at any function. Everyone was excited, good mood and it was like one family. It was not possible for one to feel out of place.
Wishing the couple a happy and strong marriage.
I’m just an email and phone call away. Keep the nuptials memorable.
