AFRICA Cup 2012 winning star Hichani Himoonde is training with MTN-FAZ Super Division side Nkwazi with the possibility of inking a deal with the ‘Policemen’ for the 2016 soccer season.
Himoonde, who struggled for a first team place at South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns since joining the side in 2014 from TP Mazembe, has been training with Nkwazi at Edwin Imboela Stadium for over a week.
Nkwazi secretary Nkwazi Kashala confirmed in an interview yesterday that the club was planning on signing Himoonde and that negotiations had commenced with the player and Sundowns.
“Yes, Hichani has been training with us for over a week, we are in talking terms with the player and his club Sundowns and if he (Hichani) is interested we will sign him on,” he said.
Himoonde, who was last called for the Chipolopolo friendly match against Japan in May last year, was among the 10 players Sundowns offloaded in September this year.
