THE sale of expired food like chicken in some retail shops in Lusaka has continued. During the week, Talking Shop found one big chain store selling expired frozen chicken.
Talking shop got the chicken from the fridge and upon reaching the counter established that the Chicken expired on November 8, 2015.
When queried, the cashier quickly took away the chicken promising to replace it. Concerned authorities are being urged to double their efforts and ensure customers are not unnecessarily exposed to danger through expired foods in these shops.

Talking Shop has noted with great concern that some staff preparing Shawarma in Ndola do not cover their heads thereby exposing hair to food.
Some customers have complained of finding pieces of hair on the food.
Customers are however urging Shawarma sellers to ensure those preparing the food have their hair covered to promote hygiene.

Talking shop would like to commend restaurant owners who have come up with eateries known as ‘Matebeto’ especially in Lusaka which have been dotted all around the city. It is good to note that the problem of where to get food for Zambian workers especially in Lusaka is now a thing of the past.
There is a wide variety of restaurants where people can eat from at lunch time. Thumbs up to these restaurant owners, may this continue.
