Police Cap 628x350By JULIUS PHIRI –
DEPUTY Inspector General of Police Eugene Sibote has warned Police officers against involving themselves in activities which could plunge the Zambia Police Service into disrepute.
Mr Sibote, who was until recently the Eastern Province Police commissioner, said in Chipata yesterday that Police officers should conduct their work in a professional manner.
He said, in a farewell message, that the law was clear that whoever misbehaved deserved to be punished without any exception.
Mr Sibote said Police officers should set an example by ensuring that they executed their duties professionally.
“Discipline and hard work are the keys to every success, so I am appealing to Police officers to always conduct themselves in a professional manner.
“You should avoid by all means indulging in bad behaviour because we shall not take it kindly,” Mr Sibote said.
He directed the officers to support the new provincial Police commissioner, Alex Chilufya.
Mr Sibote said Mr Chilufya should be given support in order for him to execute his job without difficulties.
He urged Mr Chilufya to ensure that the ongoing construction of an office block at Chipata Central Police Station was completed.
