FOUR people have died on the spot after the vehicle they were travelling in overturned in Senanga District of Western Province.
Western Province Police Chief Charles Lungu said in an interview yesterday that the accident happened on Saturday evening in Mashubu area on the Senanga-Sesheke Road.
“The fatal road traffic accident involved a Toyota Hiace registration number ALG 5045, which overturned and claimed four lives, leaving two injured. The four who died sustained multiple body injuries,” he said.
Mr Lungu said the deceased were all men and identified them as Mumbuna Pumulo, aged 22, of Chief Mulangu’s Nashangu Village in Shang’ombo Dsitrict, Billy Lishomwa, 42, and Fred Lishomwa, 17, both of Selelo Village in Chief Imukondo’s area of Sioma District and Best Nanyama, 20, of Nakabunze Village in Sioma District.
The two survivors had bruises and injuries on their legs.
Mr Lungu said Mbumwae Mubita, 27, of Kapulelo Village of Chief Lukomwa’s area in Sioma District sustained a broken left leg and a bruised right leg while Nawa Lishomwa, 37, from the same district sustained bruises.
