THE Netball Association of Zambia (NAZ) has set March 12 as the date for its elective Annual General Meeting (AGM).
NAZ general secretary Pritchard Ngoma said in an interview yesterday that the AGM would take place at the National Sports Development Centre (NASDEC) with all positions up for grabs.
Ngoma said no nomination had come in yet and the affiliates had been given till March 12 to file in their papers.
He said NAZ had a successful year, especially having participated Sydney 2015 World Cup in Australia and that the association was also looking at qualifying the team to the 2019 World Cup by taking part in a number of tournaments.
“We want to take part in many tournaments as we can this year so as to get good rankings. We really want to take part in the next World Cup having gained some experience. We have to make sure the team is well prepared,” he said.
Ngoma said NAZ would work hard and ensure that the Lydia Nangangwe-coached side qualified to the World Cup during the qualifying series set for July in Botswana.
He said the senior team would also compete at the Diamond Challenge in South Africa in September.
“We also have another tournament in Angola sometime in December, so you see we will have a quite busy year and we just hope the women will be in shape by the time we have the World Cup qualifiers in 2018,” he said.
