BIBLE Gospel Church in Africa (BIGOCA) overseer Peter Ndlovu has expressed shock over traditional healers that are advertising their products on social media.
Dr Ndlovu said it was unfortunate that some traditional healers had resorted to using social media to target clients.
He warned people to be wary of the tricksters who were hell-bent on swindling them.
“Some healers have taken to Facebook to advertise themselves and are telling people about how gifted they are and that they have spiritual powers which enable them cure diseases. In addition, these healers tell people that they can recover stolen property and lost marriages,” he said.
He said Zambia was a Christian nation which needed to live up to its standards and not entertain any form of diabolical activities.
Dr Ndlovu urged law enforcers to move in and bring the perpetrators to book before many Zambians were swindled by the fraudsters.
He said Zambians should not fall into a trap set up by the false traditional healers, who claimed to be prophets yet they were only interested in making money.
Meanwhile, Traditional Health Practitioners Association of Zambia THPAZ President Rodwell Vongo said healers were not supposed to advertise on the streets and even on social media.
Dr Vongo said it was not right for traditional healers to showcase their merchandise on any sort of media.
“These people are not allowed to advertise on the streets and abuse the social media by implying that they had remedies for various ailments,” he said.
