By CHUSA SICHONE –
A CLERGYMAN has urged the citizenry not to despair over the hardships besetting the country as they will soon pass.
Kingdom Citizens Tabernacle Pastor Davies Kasempa said the challenges being experienced in Zambia were temporary.
Pastor Kasempa was optimistic that God would intervene in the problems the country was grappling with as long as the nation remained prayerful.
He was speaking in an interview with the Sunday Times.
“I want to believe that God is about to breakthrough in a nation like Zambia. Why do I say so? Everything is very scriptural about Zambia. What we are going through right now is what the Bible calls ‘weeping may endure for a night but joy cometh in the morning’.
“So I am very sure that every little hindrance, every little pain and every little disturbance in the nation of Zambia is actually paving way to the dawn of Zambia. I want to believe that by the time we are ending this year, Zambia will be on another level,” he said.
Pastor Kasempa said according to the Bible, righteousness exalted a nation, while sin brought about reproach.

He was, therefore, happy that the country had been prayerful, with President Edgar Lungu leading by example.
“I am so excited because what’s happening is that so far righteousness is coming from the top. There is a meeting that takes place like three times at State House, that’s quite remarkable because State House is a representation of this whole nation. So if State House is praying then Zambia is praying,” he said.
Pastor Kasempa cited Acts 20:32, Ecclesiastes 9:4 ; Ecclesiastes 10:10 and Isaiah 40:31, among other scriptures, in assuring Zambians that if they continued praying to God and remained calm, He would surely answer their prayers.
He said Zambia being a Christian Nation was blessed and it was in God’s palms and thus God was watching over it as He did to His palms thus the citizenry should not worry about the country’s problems as God was rebuilding the nation.
Pastor Kasempa also denounced tribalism, warning that if there was no unity in the country that would limit the manifestation of God’s blessings upon Zambia.
On the forthcoming general elections, Pastor Kasempa said God would only allow a person who believed in and prayed to Him to rule Zambia after the August 11, 2016 polls.
