THE Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) has embarked on an annual exporter survey to collect information on challenges affecting exporters in the country.
Director Export Development Jonathan Simwawa said the agency had commenced the exporter’s survey which was done on an annual basis.
According to ZDA facebook page, Mr Simwawa said that the exporter survey would help the agency identify the major supply constraints, general challenges and how certain policies impact on the performance of exports.
Mr Simwawa said the exporter survey would cover both emerging and established Zambian exporters in all the ten provinces of the country.
He said that the findings of the survey would be presented to Government through the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry.
“The findings of the survey would help the agency through the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry to lobby Government to formulate favourable policies for exporters so as to enhance Non-Traditional Exports (NTEs),” he said.
He added that the survey would allow the agency analyse the performance of NTEs and come up with intervention measures to improve the competitive advantage of the Zambian exporters.
“Interventions by the agency come in different forms such as writing proposals to cooperating partners, market research and organising trade missions to various countries to showcase Zambian products and to get business deals, he said.
