FOOTBALL Association of Zambia (FAZ) committee member, Lee Kawanu has pledged to work with Andrew Kamanga, saying Zambian football is bigger than everyone.
Kawanu, who is the only committee member to have bounced back from the Kalusha Bwalya-led executive, said he will work with Kamanga as long as programmes he will propose won’t be blocked.
He said there was a purpose why he got re-elected and that he has a responsibility to represent the people who ushered him into office.
“It was a very difficult and emotional weekend after the election results were announced, but after reflecting deeply, I realised Zambian football is bigger than everyone.
He added that there was need for all executive members to work together for them to deliver to  people’s expectations.
Treasurer Rix Mweemba said time for celebration was gone as it was now time for the new executive to implement their manifesto.
Mweemba, who went through unopposed said he is ready to work with Kamanga in the interest Zambian football.
“We just have to work, we don’t do it for our personal gain but for all football stakeholders and time for celebration is over and it’s now time to implement the manifesto,” Mweemba said.
He added that the new committee will ensure that there is transparency and accountability as per their promise to the Zambian people.
Meanwhile, a Livingstone sports administrator has said the election of Kamanga as FAZ president has liberated many people in the football family.
Patrick Kasoka, who is PK Sports Academy executive director, said he was among many sports administrators and other citizens, including journalists, who were happy that Kamanga had taken over as FAZ president.
