WITHOUT taking away anything from the 1996 14th world player-of-the-year and Zambia’s best ever soccer icon, Kalusha Bwalya, allow me to congratulate Andrew Kamanga for ascending to the top job of running Zambian football.
There is no honeymoon for the new executive, especially that Government funding to sports has been cut due to economic challenges.
Kamanga and his deputy Richard Kazala should use the business expertise they talk of to make Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) self-sustaining immediately.
They should also convince the corporate world, like Kalu did, to sponsor the national teams.
We have recorded your promises and will remind you for the next four years.

Congrats Kamanga

I wish to extend a hearty congratulatory message to the newly-elected president of the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) Andrew Kamanga.
His triumphant ascendance to the highest football governing body in the country was imminent and long overdue. Kamanga maintained a very civilised campaign which was devoid of mudslinging and character assassination.
I am certain that Kamanga will excel in his new role and assist to bring quality management in this organisation.
I also wish to commend the outgoing president of FAZ Kalusha Bwalya and his entire executive for a job well done during their tenure of office.
God bless our great footballing nation.
