PATRIOTIC Front (PF) Central Committee member Paul Moonga says outbursts by United Party for National Development (UPND) vice-president for administration Geoffrey Mwamba against President Edgar Lungu and the Government should be rubbished with the contempt they deserve.
Mr Moonga was reacting to Mr Mwamba’s remarks in some sections of the media yesterday in which the UPND leader took a swipe at President Lungu and the Government.
In a statement released to the Sunday Times yesterday, Mr Moonga said that Mr Mwamba had no right to issue such remarks as the PF Government was delivering accordingly as demonstrated by the infrastructure upgrade, constitutional amendments and the mature approach to governance.
He said Mr Mwamba had no right to insinuate that the PF was having ‘political diarrhoea’ due to the rise in the cost of mealie-meal.
Mr Moonga said the mention of the alcoholic beverage Jameson was malicious, vexatious and frivolous aimed at seeking cheap political gain.
“I am not very keen on seeing the President engaged in cheap arguments with Mr Mwamba, who is a self-confessed wife batterer.
“Mr Mwamba has also been associated with beating his workers and I wonder what he will offer to the respectable position of vice-president,” Mr Moonga said.
Mr Moonga challenged Mr Mwamba to produce his Grade 12 certificate and make it public than exhibiting his ‘crass’ ignorance with claims that President Lungu did not possess a certificate when the Head of State was a University of Zambia law graduate.
