THE Zambia Air Force (ZAF) won the State House women golf fundraising tournament at which Republican Vice-President Inonge Wina urged men to partner with women in promoting the country’s socio-economic development.
At this exciting golf tournament played in wet conditions owing to drizzles that hit Lusaka all-day on Saturday, the ZAF team led by Paul Muyunda brought home 80 points to take first prize at this golf fun day at State House.
They won the title after a count back ahead an AVEC team led by Marcus Achiume and also had Yobe Mphande and Ian Ndhlovu.
Well over 100 golfers from a cross section of society including Chinese and Indians, football administrators, politicians and businessmen among others took part in the tournament at the exclusive nine-hole golf course.
The tournament was, however, lit-up by skewed shots, flying golf clubs and sometimes hitting the golf balls into opponents with some hilarious highs seeing struggling players just carry the ball as pressure came from groups behind them mounted.
Wina thanked the men that took part in the tournament saying their participation showed commitment to seeing the growth of various women matters in the country.
