STANBIC Bank Zambia in collaboration with Government will host the second energy conference at Mulungushi International Conference Centre in Lusaka today.
The conference will bring together key industry players to discuss ways of reducing reliance on hydropower by coming up with alternative energy sources.
This is contained in a statement issued by the conference sponsors Stanbic Bank in Lusaka.
The conference will be held under the theme ‘Diversifying Zambia’s Energy Mix for a Resilient Power Sector’.
The statement indicated that the conference will provide a platform for interaction between renewable energy developers and financiers as well as disseminate information on Government’s immediate plans to address the power deficit.
Notable speakers will be drawn from the Ministry of Energy and Water Development, the Energy Regulation Board, Zesco, the World Bank, European Union, and United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Power Africa, among others.
There will be an exhibition alongside the conference from companies dealing in alternate energy sources of solar panels, inverters and generators.
Energy and Water Development Minister Dora Siliya is expected to be guest of honour.
