President Lungu 628x350PRESIDENT Lungu has said the Zambian society is unique because people from different parts of the country easily live in harmony.
He said Zambians from different parts of the country married each other without any uneasiness.
“The Zambian society is unique because of the ‘One Zambia One Nation’ motto. People from different parts of the country get married without any qualms at all,” Mr Lungu said.
The Head of State said this in a message relayed on his behalf by Justice Minister Ngosa Simbyakula at the wedding ceremony of the President’s official photographer Salim Henry and Evelyn Tembo at the Zambia National Service Chamba Valley banquet hall in Lusaka on Saturday evening.
Mr Lungu said the newly-weds were each other’s keeper now that they were married.
He said as a couple, they would go through tribulations and that it was in such times that they should turn to God for his intervention.
He said the couple should enjoy each other’s company for many years from now.
The groom’s family representative Lastone Mumba said he was grateful for the support that his nephew Salim had received.
He said friends had proved over time that they were as good or even better than family members.
Mr Mumba wished the couple well as they started life together.
The father of the bride, Versacious Phiri said the two should learn to say ‘sorry and thank you’ and to seek permission in order to have a wonderful marriage.
Mr Phiri said he was happy to see the two get married because he had known Mr Henry since he was a child.
