FIRST National Bank Zambia (FNB) has disbursed a total of K2 million to various customers as at the end of April this year under the cash back programme.
The FNB cash back programme was introduced in January this year and it is meant to reward smart, gold and platinum account holders.
FNB head-strategic marketing and communications Clotilda Mulenga said from the time the programme was introduced the bank had paid out a total of K2 million to various account holders
“This is a reward programme which is the first of its kind in the market and designed to pay our customers for making payment electronically. All you need to do is to earn the rewards, which will be paid back in cash and credited into your account,” she said.
Ms Mulenga said this in an interview in Lusaka on Tuesday.
She said the smart, gold and platinum account holders have to make payments using their cards, mobile or internet banking for them to receive the cash back at the end of the month.
She said her bank was trying to encourage customers to use electronic platforms to make payments and purchases rather than using the actual cash to carry out transactions.
This is not a competition or a promotion it is a reward programme,” Ms Mulenga said.
