By Ndinawe Simpelwe –
Nchanga 0-1 Warriors
SKIPPER Martin Daka yesterday scored the only goal of match as visiting Kabwe Warriors beat Nchanga Rangers in a week 17 MTN/FAZ Premier League match.
Daka benefited from Rangers’ goalkeeper’s howler in the 25th minute when he failed to handle a tame free-kick which fell to visiting
captain to head into the net and ensure the Kabwe based giants end the first-half of the season in the top eight.
It was Rangers’ sixth defeat of the season but was the their first in six games while Warriors picked their seventh win of the
season.
Warriors moved to sixth position on 26 points while Rangers remained on ninth position but drop lower should the teams behind them win
their unplayed games.
Lumwana 1 Napsa 1 (Abandoned)
Napsa Stars walked -off the pitch with five minutes of play left after referee Chilufya Mwangelwa awarded a hugely disputed penalty to the home side reports
RONALD CHAWE.
This became the first abandoned game in the top flight this year.
Earlier, Mwangelwa had sent-off Napsa assistant coach Linos Makwaza to the stands besides disallowing Napsa Stars’ goal for off-side despite the first assistant referee not raising his flag.
On the field of play, both teams were still tired at 1-1 when drama unfolded and led to the abandonment.
The home team went in front in the 10th minute through Vernon
Sikalinda but Napsa replied immediately after the restart through Keagan Zulu for the game to go into the interval at par.
After the interval, both sides continued creating scoring
opportunities but both teams did not utilise the chances before Napsa had a goal scored by Emmanuel Phiri disallowed for offside.
This raise tempers on the Napsa bench  with the line man not raising and prompted complaints and a send off to coach Makwaza.
And when the game went into the final five minutes, the referee gave
the home side a penalty over an incident Napsa argues happened outside the box and when protests fell on deaf ears, they walked off the pitch.
