By NDINAWE SIMPELWE –
DAMIANO Mutale says he will not stop seeking an explanation from Football House on the amendment to the constitution despite being summoned by Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) disciplinary committee.
Meanwhile, former Kabwe Warriors secretary Michael Mutale says FAZ is too lenient on its members who are undermining the administration.
FAZ has summoned five club officials from lower divisions to appear before the disciplinary committee today for petition the association against the pending reduction of the Electoral College.
The five officials include Mutale, Maximilian Chanda, Kelvin Chipili, Albert Mainsa and Grace Gondwe.
Mutale, who is Damiano Academy proprietor, said as long as FAZ does not come out to explain to the councillors on the amendments to the constitution, he will not keep quiet.
He said he had not insulted or offended anyone by asking for an explanation on behalf of lower division clubs on the way forward after amending the constitution.
“The main concern from the councillors is that they will present the amended constitution to FIFA without engaging us. All we need is for FAZ to explain to us about the Electoral College issue because all we know is that we will be cut off.
“I think my academy has contributed to the development of football in this country. A lot clubs are using players I produced so I think I have a right to know what will happen. I’m not afraid about this disciplinary hearing and I will not stop demanding an explanation until I understand the whole thing,” Mutale said.
Mutale said he had not incited anyone but that the clubs were doing on their own but that everyone was ready to allow the reduced Electoral College if well explained.
Meanwhile, former Kabwe Warriors secretary Michael Mutale said the petition that was being discussed was nonexistent because Chanda and his friends have failed to convince the councillors.
Mutale said FAZ should stop being lenient on such councillors because they were disturbing the smooth running of the game.
He said instead of concentrating on more important issues, the association will have to sit and listen to councillors whose aim was to bring confuse in the sport.
He challenged Damiano and Chanda to release the names of clubs who had signed the petition because as far as he was concerned the two had no calibre to convince anyone.
“I think FAZ should start showing that it can bite. Chanda is talking about clubs signing the petition but here in Kabwe I don’t any club has supported his stance. There are important things that FAZ needs to work on right now. The association shouldn’t be so lenient on certain people because they are disturbing everything,” Mutale said.
