MP pledges to lobby for Chambishi x-ray facility

KALULUSHI Member of Parliament Mulenga Kampamba has pledged to lobby for funds from the Ministry of Health to set up an x-ray facility in Chambishi.
Speaking in an interview yesterday, Ms Kampamba said the population in Kalulushi District had grown hence the need to quickly lobby for funds and set up an x-ray facility to help reduce on distances residents travelled to access x-ray services.
She said Government was concerned with the health  and well-being of Zambians and it attached great importance in ensuring that it provided all necessary equipment in health facilities.
Ms Kampamba said a healthy nation was a productive nation and providing all necessary health facilities would see the nation being productive.
She explained that the district had no x-ray facility which led to residents travelling long distances to access the facility in other towns
“My people either travel to Kitwe or Chingola for x-rays which is so costly for them that is why as there MP I intend to lobby for funds to have the facility at there door step,” she said.
Ms Kampamba, who is Information and Broadcasting Services Minister said Government attached great importance to the health sector and in that regard wanted to ensure that all districts had adequate qualified health care staff.
She said she was happy because Kalulushi had benefited from the recruitment of health staff.
