CAF president Issa Hayatou has advised Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) president Andrew Kamanga and his predecessor Kalusha Bwalya to respect each other and work together for the betterment of the game.
Hayatou, who addressed the media at Heroes Stadium after watching Zambia beat Egypt 3-1 at this under-20 Africa Cup of Nations, revealed he had a meeting with the two warring administrators on Thursday and that they have reconciled.
He advised Kalusha to work closely with Kamanga and told the latter to seek advice from the former in order to develop football.

“I had a meeting with Kalusha and Kamanga and we found out that they have an unusual relationship but I have advised them to work together,” he said.
Hayatou felt that Kalusha should be free to meet Kamanga whenever he had anything to say unlike meeting members of the executive committee.
“Nothing is wrong now, all is good, the two are now good friends, and I saw them talk after the meeting. We know Kalusha has close friends in the executive but we have requested him to meet the president if there is anything and not the committee members,” the CAF supremo said.
Hayatou further explained that he included Kalusha in his CAF delegation because he was the former FAZ president and that it would be good for him to be part of the tournament.
Kalusha, in his tenure as FAZ president, won Zambia the right to host this tournament.
Hayatou remained hopeful that the internal matter had been was sorted out and the two presidents will work together from now on.
Meanwhile, Hayatou said he was impressed with the Zambian Governments commitment towards the hosting of the under-20 tournament and declared he was satisfied.
“Government has shown seriousness towards the tournament, the Republican president Edgar Lungu was here even today (yesterday) and during the opening. I noticed that even when he was out in Egypt, he was represented by the vice-president (Inonge Wina),” he said.
He said the tournament was going on well and the Local Organising committee put everything in place for the tournament.
“To be sincere, before our arrival, we sent people to inspect and everything was in order and we are satisfied so far,” The CAF boss said.
