NAPSA Stars were yesterday beaten for the first time in 15 games and paid a heavyprice for this as they got dislodged from the top of the MTN-FAZ premier table.
And it had to be a 10-man Power Dynamos that inflicted the pain which allowed former champions Zesco United to go top on 38 points, one better than Napsa with Power Dynamos still third, a further point off.
A pleased Power coach Dan Kabwe expressed hope his team will keep the momentum as they and added: “It’s encouraging to win against Napsa, they were breathing on our necks and we hope we can be the pace setters”.
And Napsa coach Tenant Chilumbawas not happy and heaped the blame for the defeat on the defence stating “We lapsed in defence,we gave them the win because we lacked concentration but we shall continue fighting”.
Power took the lead in the 12th minute through comeback kid Alex Ng’onga who struck from inside box after Luka Lungu teed-him up but saw Napsa equalised in the 34thminute through Simon Nkhata from a Kidimu Bobo pass.
Power led for the second time when Benson Sakala netted on 43 minute but saw Napsa get a lifeline through a penalty awarded by Lusaka referee Evans Mulenga after Austin Banda was fouled by Luka Lungu.
Defender Alex Mwamba didn’t delay to score from the spot kick making it 2-2 after 71 minutes and was followed by a GovendaSimwla send-off for arguing with referee Mulenga.
In the 85th minute Power made it 3-2 after through Godfrey Ngwenyanetted a penaltyfollowing  Mwamba’sfoul on Ng’onga.
Zesco 2-0 Nakambala
ZESCO United went top of the MTN-FAZ Super Division thanksto this hard fought home win, writes NDINAWE SIMPELWEfrom LevyMwanawasa Stadium.
In fact, Zesco could have walked away with a cricket scoreline save forNakambala Leopards’ goalkeeper Reagan KalabotaLulendo’s heroics.
After a myriad of missed chances, John Ching’andu was brought down inthe box by Ben Maleka and referee Evans Malata pointed to the spot with Jesse Were drilling the spot kick straight as Lulendodived to his right after 14 minutes.
Three minutes later,Were missed a golden chance to double the lead as he shot wide and saw his shot in the 29th minute thwarted by Lulendo after shaking off Mathew Sichone.
The home side had to wait until the 85th minute to seal the victorywhen KondwaniMtonga rose the highest to head-in a FacksonKapumbucross but injured himself in the process after clashing heads with SamSichinga.
Nakambala remain on 23 points.
Nakonde 1-0 Forest
REAL Nakonde picked up only their second win of the season afterbeating anForest Rangers at home.
The bottom side scored midway the second half through Juma Simbeye togo level on points with City of Lusaka on 12 points thoughNakonde have one game in hand while Forest remained stuck on 28 points.
Nkana 1 Nchanga 1
NKANA yesterday squandered a 1-0 home lead to allow Chingola side Nchanga Rangers snatch a points with a late goal, KALUMIANAKALUMIANA writes from Nkana Stadium in Kitwe.
Ronald Kampamba could have easily put the home side ahead in the second minute but amazingly missed his breakthrough effort after eluding goalkeeper Sebastian Mwange.
And in the 28th minute, the promising live-wire Harrison Musonda hit the side netting after leaving Nchanga’s defence in its wake.
Nkana then went ahead through a Diego Apenenepenalty kick on 59th minute but Nchanga left Kitwe with a point after Benson Nzuma poked in  the equaliser after a goal-mouth melee in the 79th minute.
City 2 Wanderers 2
‘MIGHTY’ Mufulira Wanderers forward Rahim Osumanu twice combined with Crispin Sakulanda to force a draw that denied City of Lusaka coach Hector Chilombo of his first win in this four-goal relegation scrap fight at Woodlands Stadium.
City opened the scoring in the 41stminute through a Chimunya Masiwa shot from way outside the box but their celebrationswere cut short by Osumanu who tapped in from a Sakulanda low cross on the nick of half-time.
Two minutes after restart, City captain Edward Tembo made it 2-1 withanother cracker from outside the box that left the visitors supporters deflated.
But the Osumanu completed brace when he dribbled passed City defenders after a benefiting from a Sakulanda pass and then shot to beat goalkeeper Joseph Phiri who was off his line.
The draw keeps City in fourth place from the bottom with 12 points, four off Wanderers who are a positon better and two points off safety.
Lumwana 1 Arrows 1
In Kalumbila of North Western Province, RONALD CHAWE reports that a 90th minute Josphat Kasusu leveler saved the Zeddy Saileti coached Lumwana Radiants from a back-to-back defeat as Red Arrows came calling.
Lumwana, beaten by Zesco on Wednesday, found themselves trailing as early as third minute, when a quickly taken corner between Bruce Musakanya and Stanley Nshimbi found the head of defender Charles Siyingwa who nodded in.
In the second half, Lumwana pushed for an equaliser until a free-kick presented itself that Kasusu, who had replace Vernon Sikalinda, dispatched to share the spoils late on.
This was the second 1-all draw the two this season after a similar scoreline the reverse fixture with Lumwana now in seventh position on 31 points, four places and points better than Arrows.
Buffaloes 1 Blades 0
GREEN Buffaloes fought tooth and nail to pick maximum points off this game that took them to within two points of the leaders, ADRIAN MWANZA writes from Edwin Imboela Stadium.
Buffaloes found the back of the net as early as the fourth minute whenFriday Samu pounced on a loose ball with coach coachBilton Musonda later praising his team for the spirited fight.
“It is a good result especially that our players were a bitjittery after the loss to Buildcon but we came to the party today and gotmaximum points,” he said.
But Konkola Blades coach LewingtoneMujembewas left disappointed saying “We had a good game but unfortunately it was just not our day but the boys were fantastic”.
Blades dominated play and saw Albert Ngosa headnarrowly wide off a Frank Chinyama cross in the 50th minute with Buffaloes’ Lottie Phiri missing after dribbling a horde of defenders 10 minutes later.
Buffaloes stay joint-third on 36 points while Blades are 16th win 18 points.
