ZAMBEEF Plc opened its first macro retail outlet in Solwezi in response to consumers’ demand for the company’s products and services in the district.
Following the launch of Zambia’s largest agro-processing company’s state-of-the art macro retail outlet in Solwezi’s Central Business District, Zambeef Group head for marketing and corporate affairs, Felix Lupindula, said Zambeef’s latest outlet, dubbed: Solwezi One Macro, was in direct response to huge consumer demand for its products and services.
“This is the first of its kind in Solwezi district. Yes, we have seen potential, we have seen support from the clients here, and we have seen the need to provide a better service, much more efficient service.
“Apart from the business environment that we think is improving in Solwezi, and the demand of a better service by the clients, we are on a macro retail rollout to ensure that our customers have a moment of reality. We are moving from the two, three till set-ups with lesser space to wider space, with parking, security and with a wider product in range,” Mr Lupindula said in an interview during the launch on Friday, at the company’s outlet.
He said consumers in Solwezi will be treated to a faster and more efficient service at the macro outlet.
“We believe that with the new system that we have invested in, the new IT system that runs our scales, it is faster. We have more cashiers to serve the clients; we have much more modern equipment; the cold rooms that we have been installed are much more efficient, meaning that we are promising our clients fresher products and the serviceability will be better,” Mr Lupindula said.
“Bigger storage means that you will have fresher products. On the other hand, macro is a one-stop concept.”
He further said automated teller machines (ATMs) will soon be installed to assist clients wanting to access their funds on the premises.
“On the other hand, we are also working with Airtel Money and MTN to provide services so you can pay using your phone.”
And Mr Lupindula said further macro outlets in the district will soon be rolled out.
“In the next four weeks, we are opening Solwezi Two Macro at the weighbridge. At that one, you will have the butchery section and you are going to have Novatek,” said Mr Lupindula. – Story courtesy of SUMA SYSTEMS.
