A CRIME scene investigator has told the court that he was led to a house in Lusaka’s Ibex Hill area where late Auto Force Propertor Reeves Malambo was stabbed from.
Detective Inspector Shabangamba Chompo based at Simon Mwansa Kapwepweowe Police station then testified that during the scene visit with his colleagues, he discovered red spots on the walls inside the house and on the veranda as well as out in the yard.
He also found a knife lying underneath a stone.
“The knife was messed in some black muddy soil as well as two gloves with reddish spots in the bath tub which appeared to have been washed,” he said.
This is in a matter where Malambo’s lover Shabu Benos, allegedly stabbed him to death on January 29 this year.
The witness testified that the officers also found the bedroom door locked and was only opened by the accused person, and it was discovered that the bed was neat but noted blood spots where the deceased fell after being injured.
He also noted two points in the flower beds within the, yard which seemed to have been dug recently as the soil was still fresh.
He said the knife, one of the gloves with reddish spots, tissues and the deceased’s white torn shirt, were later submitted to the forensic laboratory for further investigations.
The white shirt soaked with blood had a hole on the back where the deceased was suspected to have been stabbed.
In a moving testimony before High Court Judge in charge Getrude Chawatama, the witness who displayed the knife with a handle of the cross also observed that the dug up soil within the yard was used to clean the blood.
