Munshi Fruit Company set for first banana harvest

MUNSHI Fruit Company is expected to have its first banana harvest in the third quarter of this year.
The company has so far planted 50,000 banana plants on a 30-hectare plantation in Mwense district.
According to the update posted on its website by the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC), about K19.2 million had so far been invested in the plantation.
IDC stated that the investment included the procurement of suckers, irrigation equipment, land clearing and rehabilitation of infrastructure.
