Millers blame slow wheat importation for spike in flour prices

THE Millers Association of Zambia (MAZ) says the sluggish importation of wheat has contributed to the recent rise in the prices of flour and its products on the market.
The slow movement of wheat imports into the country had created a shortage thereby pushing the price of flour upwards, MAZ president Andrew Chintala said.
Mr Chintala said in an interview as more wheat began to enter the country, the commodity price was expected to stabilise.
