Zambia records K3.6bn trade surplus as inflation rate drops

ZAMBIA recorded a trade surplus valued at K3.6 billion in July this year, compared to K5.7 billion recorded the previous month, as the annual inflation rate declined to 24.4 per cent from 24.6 per cent recorded in the previous month.
Zambia Statistical Agency (ZamStats) interim statistician general Mulenga Musepa said exports, mainly comprising domestically produced goods, declined by 5.1 per cent to K18.5 billion in July this year from K19.5 billion in June.
