MILLERS have been granted a permit to import wheat and are asking for 200,000 tonnes of the commodity to be brought in to help offset the commodity’s 100,000-tonne deficit and stabilise prices for products.
Miller Association of Zambia (MAZ) president Andrew Chintala said in an interview that the local wheat stock on the market had been depleted.
Mr Chintala said to stabilise supply and the prices of the commodity, the government had allowed them to import the commodity.
