ZAMBIA’S envoys in the 2014 CAF Champions League, Nkana arrived safely in Uganda with coach Masauso Mwale expressing confidence that his side will beat Kampala City Council Authority (KCCA) to advance to the next round.
Nkana, who touched down around 02:00 hours at Entebbe Airport yesterday, had a training session at the KCCA Stadium, venue for tomorrow’s first round return leg clash that sees the two sides tied 2-all.
Mwale said Nkana will not be distracted by any funny tactics the hosts will put up but will remain focussed on winning the match.
“The team is in high spirits and we know what is expected of us and I see nothing stopping us from winning here,” he said.
Meanwhile, Zesco United opponents for tomorrow’s 2014 Confederations Cup first round return leg match Ferroviarrio da Beira arrived in the country yesterday with coach Victor Matine predicting a tough encounter.
Ferroviarrio held Zesco to a goalless draw during the first leg played in Mozambique on Sunday and a scoring draw will see Matine guide his side to the next round.
Speaking on arrival at Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe International Airport in Ndola yesterday, Matine said both teams had equal chances to advance to the next round but that the game will be tough.
“Let me say that Zesco United is a good team, they have good players and they played well in the first leg. But I think it will be very difficult for us here because they will have fans behind them which can give them a chance to win this game, said Matine.
He said Ferroviarrio had the potential to beat Zesco at their own backyard and that his players are fully prepared for the challenge.
