ZESCO Limited has clinched a deal for an additional 90 Mega Watts (MW) of electricity from Mozambique and will later this month receive a further 60 megawatts from Copperbelt Energy Corporation (CEC) as part of the efforts to alleviate the power deficit.
Zesco announced on Wednesday that it would amend the power purchase agreement with Mozambique’s state-owned energy company, Electricidade de Moçambique (EDM), to increase from the original 50 Megawatts (MW) off-peak power supply to 90MW.
