WHEN millions of people were busy buying Christmas gifts for their loved ones and families, someone out there in prison had lost hope and just waiting for his or her fate.
God our lord spoke through our Republican President Michael Chilufya Sata that a special gift be presented to our brothers and sisters in prison.
The Head of State did not take food or clothes to the convicts but to save their lives.
Those who were waiting to be hanged until pronounced dead by a qualified medical doctor had God to thank as their sentences were commuted to life imprisonment, those who were to be in prison for life had sentences reduced to 30 years and others walked to freedom.
Though the President has powers to pardon prisoners, it calls for a person with feelings for others and God’s intervention. With the comfort of State House, others would have been busy dining and wining either at plot one or Hippo Lodge but our caring man opted to think of the prisoners’ plight.
