By BUSINESS REPORTER –
TIMES of Zambia Business Reporter Maimbolwa Mulikelela has scooped the overall media award for the 88th edition of the Zambia Agricultural and Commercial Show.
The Agricultural and Commercial Society of Zambia (ACSZ) awards are held annually to recognise outstanding works by journalists in promoting the products and services offered by ACSZ during the preceding show in the electronic and print media.
Ms Mulikelela was awarded a certificate and prize money.
The second prize in print category went to Linda Nyondo and third prize went to Doreen Nawa from the Zambian Daily Mail respectively.
In the Radio category, Arthur Sikopo from SABC scooped the first prize, followed by Logic Lukwanda from Hot Fm.
For the television category, Bruce Mwale from Muvi Television got the first prize, followed by Effie Mpande from ZNBC and Kennedy Phiri from Muvi Television.
ACSZ said the awards are aimed at recognising quality productions and as a means to highlight the essence and importance of media during the show.
ACSZ president Murray Anderson said the society recorded K8.4 million as show income compared with K8.1 million registered last year.
This reflected a 4.4 per cent increase.
Speaking during the annual general meeting in Lusaka, Mr Anderson said the show was successful in terms of numbers of show-goers, exhibitors and quality of exhibits.
He said about 220,000 people passed through the gates compared to last year’s figure of 243,000.
